Hi friend,
I had an enrollment for Authentic Influence this week, and before hopping in, they sent me a set of questions.
If you're investing your money and 12 weeks of time to learn from me, I obviously should help you reach your goals. So getting lots of Qs is always a good sign!
Two of the questions were around:
"Can we have an additional call midway?"
"What if I need more help?"
And I told them the truth - I help people with Authentic Influence so they don't need help with writing online, LinkedIn, or storytelling anymore.
It highlighted a theme that is probably something you do without knowing it. Something that is preventing you from getting ahead.
It is...
Multiple online courses.
Podcasts running when you drive, work out, wait.
Constantly reading top non-fiction books.
Playing motivational stuff on YouTube.
Consuming inspiring content on Instagram.
All this is designed to make us feel so good.
You feel productive by consuming this content.
And I did this too back in 2022. I had a phase where I got online courses worth about $2000 only to consume some and leave others completely unattended.
I'd play informational videos and podcasts all the time.
Here's the issue: it keeps you stuck because the needle doesn't move unless you do.
When I conducted a course called Summit 21 between 2022 and 2025, I made sure it required people to act every day.
Some still didn't. You can never have 100% of participants giving their 100%.
However, most folks did. And every day was a learning curve.
This happens when you learn + act, and not just learn learn learn.
I've also personally failed at some pre-recorded courses I've taken and won at some. All depends on how motivated I am to achieve a particular goal, really.
Which again brings me to what I preach and teach - you can't rely on motivation, you need systems.
I write this to you because you're probably consuming a lot since consumption is the easiest nowadays.
The act of consuming itself makes you feel productive. Yet you still don't feel you're achieving your goals.
Chances are... consumption is overpowering actions.
To do:
Next time you're about to start a course, podcast episode, or 'inspiring' video, ask yourself one question first:
"What will I do differently in the next 24 hours because of this?"
If you can't answer that, skip it.
And if you're already sitting on courses you paid for and never finished, pick ONE. Just one.
Finish it before you start anything new. Apply one thing from it this week.
Learn one thing, do one thing, repeat.
All the best!
Love,
N
P.S. This is exactly why Authentic Influence is capped at a small group and runs for 12 weeks with daily action steps, not another self-paced course to add to the pile. If you're tired of consuming and ready to build your personal brand, apply for the final cohort of 2026 here.
