Hi friend,
This is the first time an issue of Side Hustle Saturdays is something so personal.
I never thought I'd be typing a newsletter at 10:10 pm, but the princess is sleeping right now so here we are.
She turns 9 months old today.
In my heart, I've known her for 16 months since she was the size of a cherry with just a heartbeat. And in these 9 months, there's so much about my work that I'm pursuing differently.
For starters, I'm now even more true to my value systems.
She has a toothless smile, and that's her usual expression when she sees me. What a blessing, I know! Every time I see her there's a gush of happy hormones haha.
But in my head, I'm constantly thinking
"What will she think if she sees I did this?"
Since my work is all public, I'm aware that everything on the internet will stay there forever. So everything I say needs to be an example I set.
I'm now even more mindful of what I say and what work I do.
One constant is that I prioritise my values over money, so I don't do anything I genuinely don't align with.
For the first time ever, I think of legacy.
My content is leaving a trail behind.
So the question is,
"What do I want to be known as?"
Honestly, there's a conflict here, because
- I want to be known as someone who helps people live more intentional lives
- I sell Authentic Influence, which is my program branded as 'growing on LinkedIn'. It's marketed that way, but only once people join do they realise it's a whole world more than that.
I might discontinue anything that's branded as 'growing on xyz platform' starting in 2027 because I teach so much more than that. My teachings revolve a lot around self-awareness, creativity, and resilience.
My Q4 goal is to figure out what's next.
All these years, I've had it all
- work 3 hours
- work from home
- enjoy my work
- make a living from it
Suddenly, I want to be uncomfortable? Isn't this weird? When life is already quite uncomfortable with sleep deprivation + more responsibilities???
I suddenly want to work offline, do corporate events, and perhaps teach at universities. This would've been so much easier earlier when I didn't have to think of who's seeing the baby when I'm away!
I don't understand this newfound zeal, but I think I want to do a lot more with my life.
As though I have more in me waiting to be unleashed.
And finally, strength.
Now that I've pushed out a baby and been through 42 hours of labour (detailed video here), I think I can genuinely do anything in the world.
In 2024, I flew halfway across the world to attend a Tony Robbins event. On the first day, we synced our mind and body and, at night, walked on 6 feet of burning coal.
My feet didn't burn.
This was to learn that your body can literally do anything you set your mind to.
But after my delivery, I feel the same 😆😆😆
Nothing can feel physically, mentally, and emotionally as taxing as pushing out a baby. I now feel I can literally do anything I set my heart to!
In daily life, that shows in showing up even when you're physically and emotionally worn out.
My short experience of motherhood has given me more strength than anything ever has, which is probably why I want to take big leaps at work too.
If you've read it this far, I truly appreciate it.
Love,
N
