Hi friend,
There’s one skill I’ve relied on more than anything else in my journey - from cheating on my 9–5 with Medium in 2020…
to quitting, growing online, launching programs, products, and now building a tech tool.
This skill isn’t writing.
It isn’t content creation.
It isn’t even consistency.
It’s resourcefulness.
Let me explain.
Back in 2020, I had:
- No mentor
- No blueprint
- No idea what personal branding even meant
- No audience
- No extra money
- No plan
But I had resourcefulness.
Which basically means:
“I’ll figure it out as I go.”
Every side-hustler needs it. Because nothing in this journey is perfectly timed, clearly laid out, or guaranteed to work.
Here’s how resourcefulness changed everything for me, and how it can for you:
1 / You stop waiting for perfect timing
Most people wait for:
- the right idea
- the right clarity
- the right month
- the right energy
- the right confidence
Meanwhile, I just posted my first Medium article and hoped for the best.
In fact, I was over the moon when my article got 8 views!
You only need to start once.
Momentum handles the rest.
As my student Amey Deo wrote once,
Momentum breeds more momentum.
2 / You use what you already have
I started with:
- Google Docs
- A Medium account
- A LinkedIn profile with zero followers
- My writing skill
No fancy tools.
No logo.
No website.
Today, people overthink their 'tech stack' before they’ve even posted their first idea.
Resourceful people start with what’s in their hands.
In fact, my course Summit 21 was conducted on Zoom and Slack. Nothing fancy!
3 / You find solutions instead of problems
When I was writing daily on Medium and balancing my job, I was flustered because:
- Low energy
- Low views
- Super competitive!
Did I stop?
No. I developed systems.
4 / You don’t crumble when things go wrong
Early in my journey, most of my articles across different publications got rejected.
Imagine waking up every morning only to either anticipate a response or have a rejection in your inbox.
All when you're taking out 2 hours a day to write those articles alongside your 9-5.
Imagine if I took that personally.
Instead, I learnt from the feedback I got from editors and kept going on. I even took expensive courses to help me.
Rejection builds resourcefulness.
And resourcefulness builds your side hustle.
Finally
You don’t need to be the most talented.
You don’t need the most time.
You don’t need the most money.
You just need the ability to figure things out as you go.
"Everything is figureoutable." - Marie Forleo
That’s the one skill that will make you unstoppable in 2026.
Love,
N
