I'm going to give you five action steps so you can start right away. No excuses, okay?
1/ Stop consuming everyone's content
Listen... the information diet you feed your beautiful brain comes out in your creativity.
Consume shitty content and you'll write shitty posts.
Consume good content and you'll get more ideas to write valuable content.
You don't need to consume or even engage with everyone. You must do it with relevant folks.
To do: shortlist 5-10 profiles in your niche. Strictly consume their content and try to engage for at least 10 minutes every day. It's difficult to grow without engaging, like talking in an empty room.
2/ Have a clear profile and offer
Don't write too many things in your profile. Some people write a history of their degrees and experience - you don't need it.
Anyway, the reader cannot even see that much under your name in your content. They can only see limited words.
Have a neat profile and a clear offer. And if you don't have an offer yet, that's okay too. Just have a neat profile.
To do: Mention a clear tagline and write your 'about me' section well. If you have work experience, it helps to use bullets so it's not just cluttered paras.
3/ Post 3x a week
I think thrice a week is ideal, and more than that only if you have the bandwidth to do so. Thrice a week otherwise builds good momentum for your audience to hear from you.
But if you're completely new, post slowly and steadily.
To do: If you're new, start with one post a week. Slowly (after 4-6 weeks), move it to two. Then move it to three when you're comfortable and it doesn't feel like added pressure and retain that.

4/ Don't make it a personal diary
Honestly, I'm tired of most content on LinkedIn which is why I stopped scrolling in the summer of 2022.
People write it like their personal diary.
Their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. What happened in their day today 🤦🏻♀️
One question - who cares?
As a writer, you must write for your reader. There's a sweet intersection between writing for the joy of writing and what your reader enjoys reading. Stay in that space because that's the only way to build an engaged audience.
To do: Write to give value.
Fun fact: Before I hit publish, I ask myself - will it help the reader? And then I hit publish only if the answer is yes.
5/ Have fun
This is the only way to keep showing up even when
- the algorithm is changing
- things don't go your way
- your impressions are low
I genuinely have fun writing online and I feel my readers can sense that energy too.
To do: know that the outcome isn't in your control, only the process is. Have fun because life's too short to not experience joy in things you do.
Summary
Ace LinkedIn in 2025 by doing this:
- Stop consuming everyone's content. Instead, short-list 5-10 profiles to consume their content and engage with them.
- Have a clear profile and [if applicable] offer.
- Post thrice a week, ideally.
- Write valuable content for your reader; LinkedIn isn't your diary.
- Have fun along the way.
All the best :)
And again - it's not too late! Start already.
And if you want, I can help you grow on LinkedIn.
See you next week!
Love,
N
