For starters, no matter what your situation is - quit focusing on the money.
I know you're thinking,
"Easy for you to say because you don't have the bills I do. I'm under stress, in debt, and am barely making ends meet."
In that case, I'd ask you
"How is stressing and obsessing going for you? How far has it got you till now?"
Because if it hasn't helped so far, it's unlikely to help later, too.
Now, think.
What is something
- You're obsessed with
- You can't stop talking about
- You've learnt at work
that can help others?
If you're a fitness enthusiast and have a demanding job, you can create content around mindset, discipline, and how to show up even with a busy schedule.
If you're a mom who's balancing a job and household, you can talk about that.
Talk about anything. What matters is that you show up.
In the beginning, it doesn't matter what you talk about, what matters is that you're out there so you can
- share your expertise
- build your brand
- build an audience
- polish your skills
And monetisation comes after that
Maybe the audience of the mom who's creating a brand asks her questions around confidence and self-doubt. Because let's be honest, as women, we're always
- criticising ourselves
- told not to speak up
- aren't getting the roles we want
- are self-sabotaging our success at times
My friend Krusha Sahjwani has a toddler and a full-time job, and creates content around motherhood apart from other things. She is also a coach for women to help them find clarity and achieve their goals.
Now you get it? It all starts with content.
Most people I see who are absolutely killing it side-hustling are
- Young workers who cheat on their jobs by side-hustling after hours
- Mid-Senior folks who create content and sell consultations
You can do any - it depends entirely on your skills and expertise.
➡️ Stop overthinking when it comes to making money online. Focus on your expertise and create around it - money will follow.
If you focus only on the money, you'll stay where you are.
(As you are, right now)
See you next week!
Love,
N
