1/ Consultation
Don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert for it. If you are an expert with decades of experience, it helps. But the secret to consultation isn’t that you need to be a pro, you just need to be a few steps ahead of others.
So if you’re an MBA student, you could consult people on getting into universities or preparing SOPs.
If you’re a seasoned entrepreneur, you could take consultation calls for budding entrepreneurs.
If you’re a sales employee with a decade of experience, you could take a consultation for sales strategies.
You get what I mean?
Do this
- Create a consultation page on free websites like Gumroad or Topmate or a paid one like Calendly
- Add the link to your LinkedIn featured section
- If you have a LinkedIn Premium, you can add the link under your name
- Try to put this offering in your header too
- Optional: Add a CTA (call-to-action) at the end of your LinkedIn posts.
For the fifth one, an example would be ending your posts with
2/ PDFs
This one isn’t rocket science.
Let’s say you’re a dad who wakes up at 5 am to work out so you can help with your kids and do some personal development practices for your day ahead.
You’re a step ahead of many others who want to do that.
So you create a 3-step productivity checklist to help others become the best versions of themselves as fathers.
That is a product right there.
Making money online doesn’t need groundbreaking strategies. It only needs you to actually hit and try every idea you get to see what works.
To do
- Type something on Google Docs or Canva, can even be 3 pages.
- Convert it into PDF.
- Upload it on Gumroad.
3/ Find a problem, propose a solution
The smartest freelancers aren’t famous, they just know that they should reach out to people before others.
There are two ways to do this:
- If someone is seeking a role, send an InMail or cold DM about why you’re the best person for that job. Show, don’t just talk. Show by attaching relevant work.
- If someone isn’t and you see a problem, propose a solution. Let's say you see a founder who has a terrible website. As a website designer, write to them about why their website isn’t maximising results, what you can do, and why you’re the best person for the job.
Most people who whine about not making money just hit all over the place without thinking.
I have got so many DMs for job opportunities, where the sender hasn’t even researched if I’m hiring or not!
Being smart about it makes all the difference!
All the best!
Love,
N
