1. Learn a skill
Go to Fiverr and see kills in demand.
Go to YouTube and learn them online. If you can, invest in courses and ebooks to help you learn faster.
Read blogs.
In this age of information, there are no excuses for 'how can I do XYZ'. Google and YouTube your questions and you get the answers
2. Go to Upwork
Apply for a gig.
Again, go to YouTube and check out a channel called Josh Burns Tech. It's where I learned to create a stellar proposal that helped me bag gigs.
Do you see a trend so far? All the info you need is out there, you just need to find and consume it.
3. Write Online
Now, you've already bagged the money. But we want to
- keep getting $1000/m
- get more gigs, more money
- attract gigs instead of finding them
Do this by writing online about your expertise and your domain.
4. Display your services
Many people say that they're doing everything but don't get clients. It's because people don't know of your services! How will you get anything when people are unaware of your offerings?
Solve this by:
- adding your services to LinkedIn 'featured section'
- mention it in the LinkedIn 'about me' section
- mention it in your X profile bio
- add a CTA to some posts
Then people will know what is it that you do. And they'll trust you to do their work if your content is good enough.
5. Extra level up - do this
Reach out to people. I've been doing this for my LinkedIn group coaching program called Authentic Influence (apply here). Here's how I go about it:
- spot a problem - when I see someone is trying to build a brand online but has room to improve
- mention the solution - I tell them how their content has potential but what mistakes are killing traction
- propose your offer - I let them know that I'm starting another batch soon and if they want to join, I'm happy to send them more info
Cold DMing is way out of my comfort zone, but it helped me convert and make $$$$$.
Summarising
Here's a quick summary of how you can make $1000 online and keep it rolling:
- Pick a skill and learn it online
- Apply for gigs on Upwork
- Write online to build a brand
- Make sure you display your services
- Use the power of cold DMs
All the best :)
See you next week!
Love,
